After one month fasting in Ramadhan month, all Muslim around the world will celebrate the next holy month with Hari Raya. At 6 July 2016, all muslims in Malaysia have celebrated Hari Raya . We celebrated hari ray for one month. Before Hari Raya comes, there's a lot of preperation we have to do so that we can celebrate it with joyful and happily . Mostly , all people in Malaysia will gathered together at their own hometown and see each other after a long time haven't met. first things that my family do when Hari Raya almost around the corner is, we buy some new outfits . after we buy a new outfit, my family and i will started to clean up our house with washed our previous curtains and changed it with a new one.
Last day of Ramadhan , we pack up our things and get ready to go back to my grandparents house . at there, me and my relatives start to hand in hand . we start with mowed the grass , small plants need to be trimmed and the drains need to be freed from chrubs. we also painted my grandparents house with a new colour. we replaced the windows curtain with a new one.
At night, my family and ido a lot of activities . my mother and my aunts will busy making delicious food and cookies. my little brother and cousins were enjoying themselves playing with fire crackers . my father and my brother decorated my grandparents house using oil lamps that we called as pelita. lighting pelita is like legacy from our old generation. but nowadays people did not use pelita , the are using lampu kelip kelip . its more save but for me it wasting electricity. that night , we sleep late.
On the first day of Hari Raya , we woke up early . after we finish bath and performed the dawn prayer we wear our new baju kurung that we recently bought with excitement . after a while, me and my family went to the mosque for Hari Raya prayer. after that , we go to the grave to pray for our family member who already passed away . at noon , my family members are gathered at my grandparents house to celebrate Hari Raya together. i am very happy to meet them at the same time, there are some children coming to our house to celebrate Hari Raya with us and also, collect duit raya. Hari Raya is the most interesting event than other festival because all of the mistakes and hatred are have been forgiven and forget. every members of my family would ask for forgiveness from each other either older or younger . After that , we will gathered at the living room , my grandparents , my parents and also my relatives would give us the Hari Raya money.
During Hari Raya , there is an events that we called as Open House . during this event, i can see so many food that has been cooked by the owner of the event . An open house brings people together regardless of their religion , culture or background. family members also invited . local favourite food during Hari Raya like Ketupat , lemang , kuah kacang and rendang are served . i really hope that next generation will continue do this tradition so that we can live happily and peaceful in one country .
The conclusion from this celebration is , hari raya is the interesting celebration because we can meet our family members who we never know and close with and all of our mistake will be forgiven by begging the bless from our parents, and friends.
